ADDICTION HELP AND SUPPORT
Information About Addictions To Substances
Substances such as alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, vapes, etc. are all extremely addictive. Put simply, people may try one of these substances and initially feel a sense of euphoria that includes pleasure and energy, or, conversely, mellowness and relaxation. Over time, though, due to the chemicals that are included in the substances, the person using them starts to build a tolerance, meaning that they need more of that substance to reach the same "high". Eventually, the person begins to feel as if they need to reach that high to survive, because withdrawals and side effects can be very painful and straining. At this point, a solid addiction has definitely formed and developed to the point of being physical and mental dependence.

Types Of Recovery Options
There are many ways to get help and support when dealing with an addiction. One of the best ways to make sure that you don't relapse is to establish a strong connection or group of people that can help you. That might mean family members, friends, or even a support group full of others who may be in a similar position as you. It's never wise to try to keep an addiction to yourself, because it is quite literally nature going against you, and it's very difficult to beat nature unless you have proper support. Certain chemicals in the substances alter our brains to affect our decision making, judgement, fortitude, etc., so even the strongest and most strong-willed people can become controlled by something as simple as a pill, drink, or puff.
